Felix and Alex met on August 24th, 2019 at a poker game hosted by Felix and his friend Scott. Starting with ten players, the final two were Felix and Alex who decided to split the remain pot 50/50 and play one final hand to declare a winner (which Felix won).

After a few months of a blossoming friendship, in November 2019 Alex confessed his feelings to Felix. However, Felix originally said "not now," having felt he wasn't in a position to date.

Alex didn't give up after the initial rejection, and continued to show Felix how interested he was. Thanks to some convincing from friends Felix invited Alex to join them for a friendly night of bowling. But that morning, both friends who were supposed to join them "mysteriously" had to cancel, leaving Felix and Alex to have their first date alone...

It was a fantastic time for both of them.

After a couple more dates, Felix and Alex made things official on Friday December 13th, 2019!

The pandemic led to more virtual dates than in person dates for the first year. However, on their one year anniversary they were able to watch a meteor shower together! Shortly after that, Alex moved in with Felix.

After three and a half years together, Felix decided it was time to pop the question. On May 21st, 2023, after a long and fun day spent together, Felix asked Alex to marry him on the front porch of their house. Alex did in fact say yes!
